A Part of Nature, A Part of Ourselves To see a part of nature
To understand a part of nature
To love a part of nature
To share a part of nature
To help a part of nature

As of May 9, 2006 my poem has gone in to print on product boxes produced by Business Zone Ltd., located in Taiwan. When I receive some of the boxes I will post a photograph of the final product. September 9, 2006 - The boxes with my poem on them arrived this morning! Thanks for all the positive comments about this poem, Rick Lovgren This is the best photo I could manage. The box is much brighter and vivid in color than this photo depicts. Here's a close-up of the actual poem on the box. |

A poem for my friend Ken on the passing
of his mother on September 18, 2006 Loss Of Mother Poem Now that I am gone, remember me with smiles and laughter. And if you need to cry, cry with your brother or sister who walks in grief beside you. And when you need me, put your arms around anyone and give to them what you need to give to me. There are so many who need so much. I want to leave you something -- something much better than words or sounds. Look for me in the people I've known or helped in some special way. Let me live in your heart as well as in your mind. You can love me most by letting your love reach out to our loved ones, by embracing them and living in their love. Love does not die, people do. So, when all that's left of me is love, give me away as best you can. ~ Author Unknown |
I heard these words in the beautiful
movie "Akeelah and the Bee" Our Deepest Fear Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. We were born to make a manifest of the glory of God that's within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. ~ Marianne Williamson A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles" |
